About Lorna Tate - Wedding Dress Designer and Wedding Dressmaker in Edinburgh Scotland

I have been working as a wedding dress designer and wedding dressmaker for about 10 years.

I started to sew and draw designs at a very young age and have designed and made special occasion wear and wedding dresses for others for many years. When the opportunity came to start my own business I decided to specialise in making bridal wear, and took a number of advanced sewing courses in bridal wear techniques and corsetry. I have a special interest and take inspiration from fashion and the construction of clothing through the ages as well as modern styles and techniques.

I particularly love fabric - especially natural fibres like silk and discovering the best combination of fabrics to achieve the result I want to make a design work beautifully for the individual bride.

I really enjoy working with brides, understanding and transforming ideas into a wedding gown which will look and feel wonderful to wear, fit perfectly, and be unique to the bride and her personal style. I am committed to providing the very best attention and high quality gown to every client who comes to me, no matter what their budget may be.

I work from home where I have a large well equipped workroom/studio and a quiet, relaxed & private fitting room. Evening or weekend appointments are easily arranged and friends and family are always welcome to come along.
